I teach people how to develop the self-love, confidence and personal power to break free from codependency, fear, self-doubt and self-sabotage so they can totally transform their lives AND their relationships.

The emotional impacts of our life experiences are recorded by our nervous system and stored in our subconscious mind, out of our awareness. Our subconscious is the most powerful part of our mind because it’s the spring from which all thought, emotion, perception and behavior flows. It’s the filter through which we experience and interpret our “self” and the world around us. In light of this, past trauma and emotional wounds can play a significant role in how we show up in the world and in our relationships.

When we have unresolved conflict from past events, we sense our neglected emotional needs as if there’s a void within us. Relationships are the primary context where we seek for that which we wanted but did not receive in childhood. Thus, it’s the landscape in which we unconsciously re-create new versions of past emotional experiences. We act out and attract what’s familiar to us, even if it’s not healthy for us. As long as we avoid the inner work to heal emotional wounds, they will continue to impact our lives and our relationships—including our needs, what we value, our choice in partners, who we attract, and how we behave toward our partners. In relationships, unresolved trauma tends to show up in the form of unhealthy attachment, avoidance or dissociation, codependency, hostile dependency, trauma bonds, or in some cases, even toxic and abusive behavior.

Having firsthand experience breaking through past traumas of my own and manifesting deep healing in my life, I offer compassionate, trauma-informed coaching in a safe, supportive space. I provide healing guidance along the way so my clients can begin to understand their past in a new way that actually empowers their future with new possibilities. I teach my clients all the tools, resources and insight they need to create the life they want and manifest healthier relationships.

 
 

As a trained and certified Master Coach and Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnotherapy and Time Line Therapy®, I use these modalities to:

  • Release the emotional charge from triggering events and emotional traumas in your past.

  • Get completion on unresolved events and integrate into wholeness the parts of you that may feel lost or broken.

  • Release limiting beliefs, negative emotions, and unwanted habits, and give your life new meaning which empowers you to heal your heart and achieve your goals.

I’m passionate about bridging the gap between science and spirituality. My coaching techniques integrate my studies from both in order to help people understand themselves better and experience a positive relationship with their inner being. I utilize mindfulness practices as well as powerful neuro-linguistic techniques that work directly at the subconscious level of mind. This blended approach has proven successful in facilitating transformational breakthroughs for my clients.

Many of my clients are people who have tried traditional therapy before and found it useful but not transformative. They still felt like something was missing. I believe that “something” is a holistic approach that fully integrates the mind, body and soul at the subconscious level. While traditional therapy can be effective for conscious mental and emotional processing, it’s less likely to sustain long-term results if it doesn’t address what’s going on within the subconscious part of our mind.

Some of my clients have gotten more results from two sessions with me than they did within two or more years of traditional therapy.

My mission is to provide guidance and support, accountability, educational resources and practical tools—all within a safe, sacred container of healing compassion and empathy. Although you can’t change what happened in your past, you can certainly change the meaning and power it has in your life today. You are not alone! My name is Christin Menendez, and I’m an intuitive, empathic Coach who can help you overcome these issues and heal root causes that keep you stuck in old, unhealthy patterns. As someone who has personally experienced every single challenge mentioned above—and has overcome it all—my own transformational journey of healing from trauma inspired me to become a Coach to others who face similar issues.

  • I felt unseen, unheard, and under-appreciated in relationships. I did everything I could to make myself worthy of my partner’s love, but it just never seemed to work.

  • I stayed in toxic relationships out of fear of being alone. When my partner would ask my forgiveness, I’d feel too guilty to leave (even though it would happen again).

  • I did the “break-up-make-up” cycle more times than I’d like to admit. It was almost as if it didn’t feel like true love unless I had to WORK and FIGHT for it. It seemed like I was always either trying to change myself to be worthy of my partner’s love, or trying to fix them into who I needed them to be for me.

  • I had strained familial relationships for most of my life, which stemmed from unprocessed anger and emotional traumas from my past.

  • I often took on other people’s problems as my own because I wanted to help, just to end up sucked into their drama. I had a hard time establishing healthy boundaries and became overwhelmed by other people’s negative energy.

  • I was a habitual people-pleaser. I sometimes changed myself or pretended to be okay with certain things that didn’t feel right simply because I craved to be accepted by others.

Despite those things, from the outside looking in, I was good at looking like I had it figured out. I had a successful corporate career, presented myself as independent and self-sufficient, and acted like I had my shit together. I still felt like something was missing. I was doing all the “right” things that society, my family or my partner expected of me, but something still felt off.

  • I had a great career with a promising future… that was consuming most of my energy and slowly burning me out.

  • I was making good money, considered by myself and others as “successful”… yet I still didn’t feel truly fulfilled working for someone else’s bottom line.

  • I kept serious relationship issues on the low so it looked like things were under control… but things were NOT going well and it was eating away at me.

  • I could be the life of the party and a real “people person”… but deep down I struggled with unworthiness and abandonment issues.

  • I generally felt connected to my life and the people in it… but I felt disconnected from myself and stuck in a rut.

  • I was great at giving sound advice and could make logical decisions… yet I had no idea how to recognize my intuition and trust my gut.

  • I was good at being compassionate and holding space for others… yet I over-analyzed and intellectualized MY emotions to avoid facing and feeling them.

No matter what, I felt incomplete. Something always just felt like it was missing. If you can relate, I want to tell you something really important…

Four BIG things I realized in my own healing journey:

  1. Wounds cannot fully heal without being opened and cleaned out. Just like physical wounds, our emotional wounds require our attention and care to heal properly. We might tell ourselves we’ve gotten over it and moved on, but that only means we taught ourselves to merely cope by avoiding the emotions. Avoiding, numbing and escaping does not heal the internal conflict. The only way to heal it is to feel it. Whatever you do, don’t try to escape your pain, but learn to “be with” it—hold space for it.

  2. The pain is exactly where you’ll find the wisdom to heal. Every painful experience holds the wisdom of a valuable life lesson, but it doesn’t have to become a life sentence! We can choose to learn and grow from our experiences, or to repeat the pattern. If you aren’t working to break the cycle, you’re perpetuating it. Conflict presents an opportunity to overcome obstacles and solve issues, through which we build confidence, emotional strength and positive self-esteem.

  3. Awareness is curative. Self-knowledge is the key that unlocks the door to healing. The more we observe ourselves objectively, the more we can notice our own participation in the creation of our problems. We begin to understand how our values, beliefs and previous experiences color our perspective, as we delete, distort and generalize information to avoid personal responsibility. We are all powerful creators already—the question is whether we’re doing it consciously, or unconsciously. If we can become aware of the ways we’re attracting more of what we don’t want, we then have the power to choose differently.

  4. Healing comes from the paradigm shift. As I stated before, we can’t change what happened to us, but we do have the power to change the meaning we assign and the power we give it over our lives. Most of us have significant emotional events in our past where a limiting belief was formed. Perhaps we made such an event mean that we couldn’t trust people, that we would be abandoned, or perhaps that we’re not good enough. No doubt, these kinds of thoughts are what created the negative emotion to begin with. Most of us go on living our lives without ever truly examining or questioning such beliefs objectively. From a new perspective on the old event, we can extract the wisdom and change the meaning, which allows us to release the emotion. This new perspective IS the paradigm shift that heals.
